Decorate a cake, if you are feeling bored

Apparently there are 1001 ways to chase boredom away but if you are someone who never lets an occasion pass by without celebrating it with a rich cake, layered with thick creams and added with sparkling, colourful cake decorations, it is the cake that can save you from boredom.

Decorated cakes are simply intriguing and great mood-boosters, not only as eatables. The aesthetics of the decoration fills up our minds with a happy and positive feeling. How many times have you stopped by the windows of confectioners and served yourself with the eye-treats? The colours and glitters of decoration are capable of freshening up the souls almost instantly.

So, if you are feeling bored, simply start decorating a cake. If you do not feel like going through the pre-decoration phase, go out and buy the simplest of cakes available at your local shop. Buy a handful of icing tubes, gel concentrates, creams, sprinkles, glitters and then start playing with them. You are bound to lose the track of time within a few minutes. The activity will readily lift up your spirit and brighten your mood.

Let your imagination fly like a bird and keep painting the plateau of cream with the flowers, stars, glitter sand, sugar strands, choco-chips and whatever you like. These are all available in small sachet packets. You will not have to spend pounds to buy a range of them but these tiny elements can act as precious brushstrokes to an empty and dull mindscape.

Ask any psychologist and he will say that making yourself busy with a creative activity is one of the best ways to combat boredom and depression.
The more creative ideas mean the more effective results. And if you still feel sceptic, why don’t you give it a try, at least for once?
